Rebecca & Storm

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I have a beautiful little mare named Storm. Storm came to live with me when she was six months old and was one of the two orphan foals that came to live with my seven year old mare Ebony. Out of the three she was very withdrawn and introverted. I never felt as if she trusted me and I struggled to make a connection with her. Then Sue came and with her healing hands treated my lovely Storm. I spent time chatting with Sue about Storm and our relationship. I learnt long ago that healing doesn’t always work the way you expect and this was a perfect example of this.

After the first session Storm would yawn when I arrived at the paddock, releasing stress but little did I know it was my stress she was releasing. What I noticed first was Storm watching me then she started to allow me to spend time with her in the field (un-haltered) without walking away. Taking small steps I began to feel that Storm was happy in my company and was more relaxed when I sat on her.

I sent time reflecting on the way the healing had brought about these changes. I believe it worked as a catalyst for change. A change in me and my attitude. I stopped ‘seeing’ Storm as a victim and began to appreciate her. In turn Storm began to relax and trust me. She began to let me in. She is so very different from other two mares, one who is gregarious and flamboyant and the other dominant and confident. Storm is sensitive and gentle and I have grown to understand her and appreciate her.

This transformation of our relationship I know started with our healing sessions with Sue. It was a healing on an emotional level and I am so very grateful. I now have a trusting relationship with a beautiful little horse named storm thanks to Sue and her healing hands.
